RWANDA COFFEE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
OCIR CAFÉ was created in 1964 with a mission of supervising coffee related activities in the country, from production to commercialization.
VISION:
Ocir café vision is to play a central role in supporting and regulating the Rwandan coffee industry through its transformation to a specialty grade producer and deeply committed to achieving the highest levels of quality coffee hence making Rwandan coffee one of the best coffees in the world.  
MISSION:

  • Participate in the development of the policy and strategies governing the coffee sector and ensure the implementation of policies as they affect production, processing, marketing research and training in the coffee sector;
  • Set Coffee quality standards and classification systems, control coffee quality and issue quality and origin certificates;
  • Collect and disseminate pertinent information relating to the coffee industry;
  • Coordinate and promote cooperation among various economic sectors within the coffee industry;
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders in promotion and development through research and extension of services in the coffee sector ;
  • Support coffee farmer associations in the production, pulping, washing, collecting and selling their coffees;
  • To participate and follow up the negotiations and conclusions of international agreements regarding coffee production and marketing.
